The Compassionate Reset: Why Your 2025 "Mess" is Morally Neutral
If you’re starting this January by staring at a shoebox of shame—a digital or physical pile of receipts, unread tax notices, and bank statements that make your stomach flip—I want you to take a deep breath.
Your financial organization (or lack thereof) is not a reflection of your character.
As a business owner, your value is found in the courses you create, the patients you heal, and the stories you tell. You cannot shame yourself into becoming organized. In fact, shame is the very thing that keeps us stuck in a cycle of avoidance.
Shifting the Narrative: From Guilt to Momentum
For those of us navigating business with ADHD or high anxiety, the traditional financial resolutions often feel like a setup for failure. We’re told to "just do the work," but the brain fog that comes with financial dread is real. It’s a "Brain Fog Tax" that drains your energy before you even open a spreadsheet. I have been there, and still can be there some days, friends!
Here is how we’re doing things differently this year:
Acknowledge the "Morally Neutral" Mess: Maybe 2025 was a year of survival. Maybe you launched a course, moved cities, or navigated personal upheaval. Whatever the mess looks like, it doesn't mean you’re bad with money. It means you were busy being a human being.
The Fresh Start Momentum: Instead of looking at a cleanup as a punishment for last year, view it as an act of kindness to your future self. Getting your books in order isn't just about the IRS or CRA; it’s about clearing the mental space so you can finally scale that podcast or launch that new offer without a weight around your neck.
Ditch the Spreadsheets: If rows of black-and-white numbers trigger your anxiety, stop using them. Seriously. Systems like Jane App or Loom video walkthroughs are designed to work with a neurospicy brain, not against it. There are easier ways to show yourself grace and know that the way you work or learn is just that. Your OWN unique way.
You Don’t Have to Carry the Weight Alone
The January Blues are real, but they don't have to define your year. Momentum starts with one small, compassionate choice.
Whether you’re a course creator in the US or a healer in Canada, my goal is to help you move from financial paralysis to CEO clarity. You focus on the creation; I’ll handle the "scary stuff."
I believe in you, friends, and Im always rooting for you.
